A Word From The Author
I started my teaching career after graduating from Marquette University. I taught second, fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth grades. I grew to love my middle school students and they were the ones who pushed me to grow and evolve into a teacher who understood how to mold, stretch and force them into learners that some of them didn’t want to be! I wanted to share my experience, knowledge and sometimes “out of the box” ideas that allowed me to teach for nearly thirty years. Shelter is protection through understanding. Understanding how to improve class practices and understanding staff roles while making sure that you take care of yourself.
